Mark Adolphsen

Principal 

Mark Adolphsen has been with AKS Architecture for 30 years and has worked continuously in the Seattle community for 42 years. He has been a licensed Architect in the state of Washington since 1983. Mark is currently President of AKS Architecture and leads the facilities planning, commercial, and government projects for the office.  His projects are consistently executed on time and within budget, earning him awards and recognition from the U.S. Navy, Society of Military Engineers, The American Planning Association, and the Master Builders Association – Merchandizing and Marketing Awards.

Sustainable design and energy efficiency are central to renovation projects, and are a focus of many of Mark’s projects. Recently, Mark’s project for the US Marines Training Center in Yakima, WA achieved LEED Gold Certification.

Mark’s diverse building type background and experience lends itself to his work in drafting Facility Plans and Assessments, 20 Year Strategic Development Plans, and Master Plans. This experience gives him a unique vantage point when approaching projects.


Robert Koch

Principal 

Robert Koch has been with AKS Architecture for 51 years. He continues to be the design leadership for the firm’s significant hospitality, clubhouse and residential projects. He is a licensed architect in the states of Washington and Hawaii. Mr. Koch is an active member of the Clubhouse Managers Association of America (CMAA), Evergreen Chapter. Mr. Koch is also a retired Captain in the United States Navy and a graduate of the Golf Clubhouse Programming, Planning, Design, and Site Planning Course from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard.


Colleen Erskine

Project Manager / Designer

Colleen Erskine is a graduate of the University of Washington, School of Architecture. She has been with AKS 14 years working on a wide range of commercial projects for both the public and private sectors as well as residential. Colleen has served as project manager, planner, and designer for numerous projects. She has also supported many projects with her incredible graphic design and space planning abilities. Colleen has extensive experience in preparing construction packages for several project types that include offices, maintenance, training, housing, hangars, clubhouses, industrial, laboratory, and support spaces. She pays close attention to detail and strives for comprehensive and accurate documents that meet the client’s expectations and required deadlines.


Mackinley Erickson

Architectural Intern

Mack is a graduate of the University of Washington, School of Architecture. He has been with AKS for 3 years and supports the firm’s commercial and residential projects with his great drafting and graphic abilities.
